Bacup 76-93 St Peter's

A slow start from Bacup saw them go 0-8 down after the first minute.

A time out was called in order to settle the nerves and ensure that the team did not feel intimidated in any way as St Peter's had a lot of big lads. However, it became apparent that Bacup had the two most skilful players on the court in Conor Porter and Ben Chicken.

The team made a good recovery drawing the game level at 13-13 but could not match that intensity for the remainder of the quarter and let the lead slip to 22-33.

Another rally in the second quarter and the difference in scores was reduced from 11points to 3 just after half time with the scores now at 42-45.

The pattern of the game was set. St Peter's would pull away, then Bacup, with a massive effort, would daw them back.

St Peter's took a 50-62 lead, and again Bacup pulled them back to 64-69.

St Peter's extended their lead from 5 to 13 (66-79) but this time the big effort couldn't reduce the deficit and St Peter's held on to win by 17.

A superb effort from Bacup against a much bigger team.
