Step 1
From 8 March, all schools will reopen with school sport allowed as part of educational provision and wraparound care.

From 29 March, outdoor sports facilities such as tennis and basketball courts, and outdoor swimming pools will be able to reopen for use in line with wider social contact limits. Organised outdoor sports for both adults and children will also be able to resume with any numbers, where this takes place under NGB guidance.

Step 2
No earlier than 12 April and will allow indoor facilities to reopen. Indoor sporting activities for children will be able to take place.

Step 3
From 17 May at the earliest, organised adult indoor group sports and exercise classes will be able to resume. This stage will also see the return of some spectators at sporting events.

 

13th January 2021
News from Basketball England today is that all non-elite competitions are cancelled. No schools basketball.

15th November 2020
Lockdown 2.0
Basketball allowed as part of the school curriculum. Nothing else allowed apart from BBL games which are being streamed on Youtube.

September 2020
2020-21 season update: due to the current restrictions in place becuse of the Covid 19 virus, the competition has been suspended for this season.

Some kind of competition/tournament will be organised if these restrictions are lifted. However, the government announcement on 22nd September suggests 6 more months of restrictions are possible, which is late March 2021.

ENGLISH SCHOOLS BASKETBALL
National Schools Competitions start early in February 2020. Entry for Lancashire is direct into the knockout stages as the LSBBA competitions act as the County rounds of the national competition.
